lab toad
WASD, Shift, Space, R (restart level), Tilda (skip cutscene, shows overlay)
you play as a toad in on going learning experiments across 13 levels.
(tip)levels 5->9 have the same map as 0->4
*warning* cut scenes use live action footage of toads test subjects (nothing graphic)
*warning* after level 5, i use an optical illusion shader (nothing flashes, just hard on eyes), you can toggle it by pressing 'B' (but i would consider that cheating, the difficulty in seeing is part of the challenge )
i have never created a game before, never used shaders or a game engine or anything 3D.
the cut scenes are clips with very little to no editing, they are rearranged to change the context giving my game its story. I randomly found this German online library with science videos from the 80's; I stubled across the toad videos whilst trying to learn how to use shaders. I've watched probably 20 hours of videos (im not german ) https://av.tib.eu/
(bug) I used text meshes for most models because i don't know how to model, but the web didn't like unicode, so i had to swap them last minute, so things that are not boxes are a bit janky
(bug)(i think i fixed them all) for some reason a couple meshes have all XYZ scale negative, which are normal in every way except when you touch them movement freezes
